ALVESTON Churches Christian Aid Group coordinators are pleased to report that this year’s Christian Aid Week collection in Alveston and Rudgeway raised £2,548 towards world wide projects.
Grateful thanks to all the collectors for your time and to all donors for your contributions.
Over the past five years St Helen’s Church and Alveston Methodist Church have together raised nearly £10,000 in the May Christian Aid collections.
This coming Sunday (June 11) members of all the Severnside Churches Group will be meeting together at St Helen’s Church for their annual Songs of Praise event.
The theme this year is ‘There is more that unites us than divides us’.
You are welcome to join us in The Vicarage Garden from 6pm for about an hour of hymns followed by light refreshments.
The event will be led by Reverend David Alderman the superintendent minister of the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Circuit and musical accompaniment will be provided by Thornbury town band.
