STAFF at a care home in Stroud are inviting local people to visit this Saturday to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2pm-4pm on Saturday, June 17, the team at Scarlet House on Westward Road will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event.

The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Scarlet House staff have organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day.

There will be fun and games for all the family with fete stalls, live music from the Avening Silver Band, a tombola, raffle and summer refreshments.

Those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Scarlet House and take a tour of the care home.

Pyela Mwale, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.

“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Scarlet House has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing.

“We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Stroud.”

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Scarlet House will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s latest guide A Helping Hand which can also be downloaded from careuk.com/helpinghand.
