A KESTREL that went missing while performing at a medieval fayre in Winterbourne has now been found.

Cleopatra was swept away by a strong wind during a flying display, and was missing for five days before she turned up on Hawkesbury Common last night.

Her owner Tony Bryant, who runs Raptorcare Falconry, visited the common at 8.25pm to rescue the bird after receiving a tip off that she was there from local residents.

He used a lure and called to her, and she soon flew down from some oak trees in the field.

Tony said that he was "ecstatic" to have her back.

"She is fine, a bit scruffy and broken feathered but was really pleased with her supper," he said.

"Thank you everyone for your fantastic efforts to find her - I think our contact details were seen in The Gazette and this helped a lot."
