STROUD firefighters will be hosting a sponsored car wash at their Paganhill base to raise funds for the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

This follows in the footsteps of Nailsworth's firefighters who raised more than £1,300 yesterday from their car wash.

While there is no fixed price for donations, members of the public encouraged to give a voluntary donation.

The government will be providing each of the families with £5,500 and they will be assisted by council officers and charities to ensure they find housing in the same area.

Stroud firefighters will be hosting the sponsored car wash tomorrow from 5pm until 9pm at the Stroud base: 1 Paganhill Ln, Stroud GL5 4JT.
