TO answer the question what happens when cars, coaches and cows all meet around Minchinhampton - you guessed it, traffic chaos.

Two coaches dropping off school pupils in Minchinhampton High Street caused a lock down on all surrounding roads in and out of the town centre, which already suffers in the morning rush due to traditional narrow streets.

Compounding the issue are temporary four-way traffic lights for roadworks on the corner of Dr Browns Road, Cirencester Road (the main road) and Burleigh Lane.

This junction can be quite congested in the morning commuter and school rush on a good day.

However these lights have created considerable tailbacks now stretching from said junction back to Tom Long's Post and past the Cirencester Road, Butt Street and Tynings junction.

These temporary lights are for work by Severn Trent Water to improve hydrants in the area, work began yesterday and will conclude tomorrow (Wednesday, June 21).

On top of these woes, the herd of some 500 cattle are crossing and gathering at the Tom Long's Post junction, advice as always from highways is stay alert and drive within the speed limit (40mph).
