WE ARE a National Charity working in the Stroud District area to encourage walking which has considerable health benefits, as well as providing a very sociable experience.

In this connection we care for the local footpath network by keeping the paths free from obstruction and therefore easy to walk along.

Also we purchase and install new stiles and kissing gates where necessary, since 2007 we have installed 28 new stiles and kissing gates.

All this is carried out by volunteers freely giving of their time and very often money.

Every new stile or gate takes about six months to one year to complete due to getting the landowners permission etc.

We regularly lead walks every week of the year and these vary in distance from four to 10 miles and every fortnight on a Monday short four mile walks are held which are suitable for beginners or those less fit.

New walkers always very welcome and your first three walks are absolutely free, after that you would be expected to join the Group.
