THORNBURY Rock ’n’ Roll Night was held on Saturday, May 27 and was a sell-out.

The audience raved about the energetic evening and hope that such an event will be repeated in the near future.

The organiser was Ted Hervey and there was live music provided by The Firebirds and The Heartbeats, Decks by Will Warren and Red Hot ‘n’ Rockin were also featured.

Ted raised the amazing sum of £1,250 for the League of Friends at the event at Armstrong Hall.

Discussions will now take place between the League of Friends of Thornbury Hospital and the staff of the Henderson Ward to consider how best to spend the donation to the benefit of patients and staff of the hospital.

Shirley Holloway, chairman of the League of Friends, said: “It came as a great surprise to me to learn that this very popular event was to be held with all proceeds to go to the Friends of Thornbury Hospital.

“It is good to know that people value our work and discussions will now take place between the League and Henderson Ward to decide how best to spend the donation to the benefit of patients and staff.

“We have to keep the hospital in the forefront of the minds of local people especially if it is to grow in size in the near future.”
