STAFF at a Stroud-based condiment and preserves company have launched two new tasty products in a bid to re-energise what is a competitive market.
Kitchen Garden, based on the Salmon Springs Trading Estate, will now sell sundried tomato & chipotle and pineapple & papaya relishes.
Its managing staff claim that exciting flavours such as Kitchen Garden’s are required to bring more condiment-loving customers to the table.
Commercial director, James Horwood, says: “The traditional preserves market is a tough one to compete in, fortunately, we’ve 28 years’ experience under our belt.
But with more players than ever before, and suggestions of a diminishing customer base, it’s now more important than ever to look to the future of the food industry and develop some exciting new products to lead the way.
“These two products are the first phase of this project.”
Kitchen Garden Foods was founded in 1989 by Barbara Moinet and the company now supplies over 500 outlets across all of the UK and overseas.
All of its products are made by hand, in small batches, using only natural ingredients.
James Moinet, operations director and head of new product development said: “These products bring something interesting to the market with some exciting flavours.
“Spicy food is bang on trend at the moment and the Chipotle chillies are a great addition to the sundried tomato.
“Pineapple & papaya is perfect as a summer-time relish and has a very refreshing taste.”
Both new products have an RRP of £3.40 and are available at www.kitchengardenfoods.co.uk
