AVON and Somerset’s police chief constable will be hosting a Facebook Live to allow residents from across South Gloucestershire the opportunity to pitch questions.

The 30-miniute live session, which will run from 2pm on Monday, July 24 will feature questions on several themes.

These include response to the terror atrocities, hate crime, female genital mutilation (FGM) and road safety - in particular speeding.

Chief Constable Andy Marsh said: “You continue to put forward some really good questions to me such as what are the police doing to tackle fraud and cyber-crime and what is the purpose of body worn video.

“I continue to be impressed by your questions and delighted to be able to answer them.

“It’s important that we are as open as possible with the communities we serve and it’s vital we hear your concerns, so I would encourage you to submit your questions.”

This event is also an opportunity for residents to share their concerns with the area’s police and crime commissioner, who will be fielding the questions to the police chief constable.

PCC Sue Mountstevens said: “As your voice in policing, it’s important that I hear from you about what local policing issues matter to you the most.

“I can then put your questions to the chief constable, to be answered immediately.

“We’ve once again selected some very timely topics and I look forward to hearing what residents have to say.

“These bi-monthly live webchats are your opportunity to address your local policing questions and concerns directly with the chief constable.

“I look forward to receiving your questions over the coming weeks and do hope that you will be able to join us live on the afternoon of Monday, July 24.”

The webchat will be broadcast on Facebook live via the following link – www.facebook.com/AandSPCC You can submit your questions by emailing them to pcc@avonandsomerset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 01275 816377.
