HUNDREDS of Yate residents attended a free community event at Brinsham Park in Yate over the weekend.
The afternoon fun day took place on Sunday, July 16 and included a dog show, a treasure hunt for children, a tug of war challenge and an activity craft tent.
Adults and children alike also enjoyed meeting a live British Owl from Wild Owl TV.
Councillor Karl Tomasin, Deputy Mayor of Yate, told the Gazette that the day was a big success.
He said:“Several hundred residents of Yate had an afternoon of glorious sunshine and fun and games.
“The dog show entrants were very well behaved and so were their owners.
“The Friends of Brinsham Park hope to build on this for future years, adding a lot more games and events.
“Thanks go to the Friends of Brinsham for helping to organise the event and to the volunteers and staff of Yate Town Council for their work on the day.”
