THIEVES broke into a house in Yate and stole a safe containing gold jewellery and documents on Tuesday, July 18.

They made off with a number of valuable items, including necklaces, bracelets and a man’s Rolex Datejust watch, from the property in Normandy Drive.

Police have since carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and Crime Scene Investigators have examined the property.

The victim of the theft has also been given tailored home security advice.

Investigating officer DC 3222 Alastair Binnie said: “We do have a witness who saw three men in the area at the time. All three were wearing hooded tops with the hoods up.

“I’m keen to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time or who might have any other information which could help our investigation.”

Anyone who can help is asked to get in touch with DC Binnie through the police website www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5217164044. Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
