HEAVY and persistent rain will clear slowly to make way for sunny spells this afternoon.
Showers will however arrive from the west, with a risk of thunder and plenty of wind as temperatures reach highs of 18C.
The wind and rain will clear eastwards in the evening, with some dry spells, however heavy showers will move in from the west through the early hours. Temperatures will drop over night to as low as 12C.
