VOLUNTEERS at a conservation group in Chipping Sodbury are putting on an event to showcase the environment and history of Lilliput Park.

Lilliput Conservation Group will be hosting a morning walk of the green space, which is owned and maintained by Dodington Parish Council, on Saturday, August 5.

The event will start at 10am at the Kingfisher Road gate, and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Conservation Group member Paul Hulbert told the Gazette: "Many local people enjoy the park without realising what the park was originally, before all the houses were built.

“We'll be telling them a bit about the history, and showing them what our volunteers been up to over the last few months.”

Paul added that people are invited to help the Lilliput Conservation Group maintain the park on Tuesday, August 1 from 10am. .

He said: “Please wear suitable footwear - stout shoes or wellies. We will supply tools and gloves, but please bring shears and secateurs if you have them."

Lilliput Park is a small historic landscaped park just off Heron Way, Chipping Sodbury. It has a playground and sports equipment plus a variety of wildlife throughout the year.
