FIREFIGHTERS raced to tackle a house fire in Yate on Saturday after a fire broke out in the kitchen.
Two crews were called out to the incident on Ridgeway at 1.39pm, arriving to find the kitchen well alight.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel to put out the fire, which has been deemed to have been caused accidental.
A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service advised resident to never leave a pan or grill unattended and to turn off the heat or remove cooking, should you have to leave the room.
