MOTORCYCLISTS, moped and scooter riders are being sought out to join a recently formed branch of the Royal British Legion in South Gloucestershire.

The Riders Brach is the biggest within the Royal British Legion (RBL) and membership is open to anyone, regardless of whether they have served in the armed forces, and are keen to attract younger members, with youth membership being offered free to 12-16-year-olds.

The branch is also arguably the most active within the RBL with regular rideouts, bike meets, rally's, tours, charity runs and supporting many other legion branches by attending events with their motorcycles, leading parades as well as holding their own meetings and helping to raise millions of pounds for the Poppy Appeal.

As well as getting involved in lots of activities, young riders can learn from more experienced riders to become safer on the roads and to become more proficient especially if they want to progress on to bigger machines. They can also learn about the Royal British Legion and how it helps thousands of people every year.

Anyone interested in joining or finding out more can visit the RBL Riders stand at the Bristol Bike show at St Nicholas Market, Corn Street, on Saturday, August 19.
