YATE Academy students are celebrating their best ever performance in the school’s history, with a stunning set of results.

A whole host of students have been successful in gaining university places  or apprenticeships. Students with particularly impressive results include Jessica Boden who achieved three Distinction Stars, and in turn will be joining Gloucester University to study Zoological Management, and Kate Phillips who achieved two Distinction Stars and a Distinction and will be joining UWE to study Events Management.

Also, well done to Lee Carter and Bernardo Fernandes, who both achieved ABB in their A-Levels. Lee will be taking his place at Manchester University to study Chemistry and Bernardo will take his place at Cardiff University to study Further Maths.

Paul Skipp, Principal of Yate Academy, said: “I am delighted with the Year 13 results, students have worked tirelessly and made superb progress; the excellent support of their teachers has prepared them well for further study.”

Tracy Twinberrow, director of Yate's sixth form, said: "It's fantastic for us to see our students reach their potential and hear about what they're going to do. But it's also bittersweet, as it's the end of an era. We've got to know them all so well, and now they're moving on.

"They've all got plans of what to do next, but they know we're always here to support them."
