NEW support services for victims of domestic violence and abuse will be launched in South Gloucestershire this week.
Sue Mountstevens PCC and Amanda Deeks, chief executive of South Gloucestershire Council, will introducing the care package at Coniston Community Centre in Patchway tomorrow.
There will be an opportunity to talk to staff from charity Next Link about the options available to victims in the area.
Next Link's services include: safe houses, advice, GP training, advocacy support, and survivor, family and peer support.
Carol Metters, MBE and Next Link CEO, said: "It is estimated that 6000 victims experience domestic abuse in South Gloucestershire each year.
"We know that victims who receive help do go on to have safe fulfilling lives. It is important that professionals and victims know what help there is available. The launch will provide leaflets and posters about the range of services we offer and how to access them."
