YATE Town Council is organising a free drop in event for anyone interested in hearing more about the start-up of an over 50’s Men in Shed’s group in Yate.
The event is taking place on Thursday, October 5, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at the Armadillo Youth Café and venue (the purple building next to Yate Leisure Centre).
“A men’s shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where men can feel at home and pursue practical interests,” said a spokesman for the council.
“They are places of skillsharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where men come together to work.”
Refreshments including coffee, tea, bacon butties, or a veggie alternative, and biscuits will be available.
