Firefighters rescue horse half-submerged in a ditch in Dodington
FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a horse in Dodington at the weekend after it became stuck in a ditch, half-submerged in water.
Four crews from Yate, Kingswood and Bath were called out on Sunday at 2pm after reports of the horse getting stuck in the ditch near a farm on Old Parish Lane.
Firefighters used a harness and the farmer’s vehicle to free the 20-year-old horse.
A vet was also in attendance, who assisted in checking the horse over after the rescue was made.
