FIRE crews from Yate, Thornbury, Kingswood and Temple fire stations are currently attending a large blaze in a warehouse in Yate.
They were called to the scene on Waverley Road at 1.34pm.
The building, which measures approximately 30m x 30m, is used as a pet supply store.
Crews in breathing apparatus are using jets and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire.
Engineers from the electricity board are at the scene and have isolated the building's electricity supply, a move which a spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue said may affect properties in the area.
Police officers are enforcing a cordon in the area and are advising people in nearby buildings to keep away.
The affected warehouse has been evacuated.
