A BUSINESS social event took place in Chipping Sodbury last week.
Organised by the Sodbury and Yate Business Association, it was held at the Town Hall on Thursday evening.
Chris Pockett, of Renishaw, gave a talk about the company's global success.
“It was amazing, hearing about how something manufactured locally has had such an impact on the world," said SYBA co-chair, Tracy Francksen.
“We also heard from the Young Business Person of the Year, James Murdon, co-creator of Mardles stickers.
"It was a fantastic evening, and we had an excellent turn-out. Eighty-one people came along and we gained four new members," she said.
Futre SYBA events include: a skittles night, a Christmas party, and a fundraising quiz, in aid of Brain Tumor Support, at Iron Acton Parish Hall on January 12.
