STAFF at Cotswold District Council have been busy raising money for this year’s Children in Need appeal with their very own baking competition.

The Great Trinity Road Bake Off was held at the council’s offices in Cirencester yesterday and there wasn’t a soggy bottom in sight.

Staff with a flair for baking were tested on their cake and savoury making skills and head judges Nigel ‘Noel Fielding’ Adams, CDC’s head of paid service, and Marie ‘Prue Leith’ Whiteman, executive PA, presented the coveted star baker awards to print and design service manager Wendy Nicholls and business partner accountant Louise Thomas.

(Savoury category winner Louise Thomas savours her victory)

Wendy made a “truly delicious” orange cake and Louise wowed everyone with her Cotswold pasties.

After the winners had been announced, staff tucked into all the competition cakes and savouries, which were sold off to raise money for Children in Need.

In other fundraising activities, several teams participated in a series of CiN themed office Olympics events and a lunchtime quiz will be held next Monday.
