A SWIMMER suffered cuts to their feet from the newly laid floor in Yate's recently refurbished pool.
The incident occurred after a relaunch of services at Yate Active Lifestyle Centre at the end of October, following a £1.4million overhaul of the facilities.
It was reported to the management team, who undertook the necessary repairs.
Ian Jones, Director of Buildings & Environment at the Circadian Trust, which manages the centre, said: “We are aware of an incident in the new pool last week, caused by a minor defect following our refurbishment.
"Staff immediately identified the cause of the problem and repairs have since been made by external specialist contractors.
“The new teaching pool tiles are anti-slip, and have a slightly raised texture, in line with industry standards.
"This may occasionally affect soft skin. We have put up signs around the pool to draw attention to the new flooring.
“The health and safety of our customers is extremely important to us and we constantly review our facilities to ensure they meet the highest standards.”
