THE Marlborough Arms in Cirencester has fallen hook, line and sinker for a chip shop’s beer.

The Sheep Street pub has agreed to stock Malt and Anchor’s beer, Hooked, which was created especially to complement their fish and chips.

Ali Neal, manager of the Marlborough Arms, said: “We already sell the Malts’ award winning fish and chips on Friday and Saturday so it is great to bring their house beer too.

“Unlike in the other four outlets the beer is available, it will not be in bottles but on draft and it’s only here for a limited time.”

Dan Lafford, director of Malt and Anchor, explained how the special beer matches with their fish and chips.

“I met with the Bespoke Brewery in the Forest of Dean and together we came up with Hooked”, said Dan.

“It is a blonde ale that contains a cascade hop finish which gives it a citrus note that works great with fish and chips”.
