POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a van driver failed to stop following a crash with a lorry near Dyrham Park.

The incident happened on at about 11.50am on Friday, December 15 on the A46 near to turn-off to Dyrham Park.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "A Co-op articulated lorry was travelling towards J18 (Tormarton) of the M4. 

"A white van travelling in the opposite direction towards the A420 from the Tormarton direction was in collision with the offside tractor unit of the lorry, smashing the driver’s side mirror, which hit the offside window causing glass to smash and injure the driver.

"He required hospital treatment but is not believed to have been seriously injured.

"The driver of the van failed to stop and drove off in the direction of Bath."

The force are now keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, who may have information to help with their enquiries. Call 101, quoting log 0411, December 15.
