A CHRISTMAS message from Wendy Whittle, Mayor of Chipping Sodbury.

"I have had another busy year meeting many people at all the usual events that Chipping Sodbury and Old Sodbury of which I am Mayor are so good at.

"May I thank all the clubs and organisations who contribute so greatly to our community which bring people together.

"We are so pleased that we were able to save Chipping Sodbury Library due to SGC cutbacks and is now run by Sodbury Town Council with help from SGC and a wonderful band of volunteers for which we are eternally grateful.

"2018 will be an important year for us, Chipping Sodbury will celebrate our 800th birthday. On August 11 and 12 we hope to have great activities for us all to enjoy.

"November 11, 2018, Armistice Day, will be 100 years since WW1 ended so we will be having special remembrances on this day.

"May I take this opportunity in wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year."
