KINGSGATE Park in Yate - closed yesterday as a safety precaution due to high winds - is open again.
The decision to close the park, which is managed by Yate Town Council, was made on the advice of a tree surgeon after branches had fallen from a tree.
The damage was caused by gusts from Storm Eleanor, which saw wind speeds in excess of 40-50mph sweep through the area.
A spokesman for the council said: "Further to the closure of the park yesterday, unfortunately, the damaged tree was unable to be saved and following advice from the tree surgeon, work was undertaken to remove the branches and made safe.
"All the logs and chippings from this tree will be recycled and used within the parks in the town.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the park yesterday."
