THERE are currently severe delays on the road affecting those travelling to and from Cirencester.

Traffic is slow on the A417. Those travelling from Cirencester to Gloucester are facing delays up to 16 minutes in Birdlip. The average speed is 5mph.

Those coming in the opposite direction (towards Cirencester) on the A417 are also seeing delays in Birdlip and the Air Balloon roundabout area, with the average speed at 15mph.

Meanwhile, an incident involving two vehicles on the B4060 Wickwar Road near Kingswood Football Club is affecting traffic near Wotton-under-Edge.

The road incident was first reported at 8.07am and is also causing disruption both ways at Hillesley Road.

For those travelling to work or school by train, there are reduced train services in parts of the West due to strike action by the RMT union. 

Services on South Western Trains are reduced and replacement bus service are running at many stations.

Meanwhile, there are delays of up to 45 minutes on Great Western Railway services between Bath Spa and Westbury, and between Chippenham and Westbury, due to signalling problems
