A YOUNG person with special needs was attacked in Yate at around 5.15pm on Friday evening.
The 16-year-old, who is autistic and has ADHD, was heading to McDonald’s with a friend.
The trip was a treat, after hearing the good news that he had got a place at college.
He was standing on Station Road, near Morrisons, when a small white van pulled up and two men jumped out and started punching him in the head and stomach.
Witnesses to the assault, which took place on January 12, are now sought.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call police on 101, with the crime reference number 5218008801.
