THE Sodbury Vale Model Railway exhibition returns to Yate next month.

The annual show will take place on Saturday, February 3, at St Mary’s Church and church hall.

The event will see a new 2018 exhibition in the church, on Church Road, modelling demonstrations, trade and society stands and refreshments throughout the day.

Secretary of the Sodbury Vale Model Railway Club, Tim Crockford, said: “This year the exhibition will feature 14 layouts from some of the best modellers in the local area and the south west.

“There will also be model railway trade support and a number of modelling demonstrations.

"Over 700 people visited the 2017 show and we hope to see them all again and more this year."

The Sodbury Vale Model Railway Club was founded in 1976 with members from Yate, Chipping Sodbury and the surrounding South Gloucestershire area.

For the last 34 years, the club has organised an annual model railway exhibition as a way for the club to promote the hobby and show its work as well as that of other invited modellers.

The show will be opened by Wully Perks and Rev Ian Wallace and will run from 10am to 4.30pm.

Admission is £5 for adults and free for accompanied children under 16.
