GREY and damp conditions were not enough to put off the runners from taking part in this year’s Dursley Pancake Race.

Crowds lined the sides of Parsonage Street to watch the competitors race, with pan and pancake in hand, along its length.

After taking first place in the women’s heat, Steph Hill of Henlow Court also crossed the finish line ahead of anyone else in the combined final race.

Second place was shared by Andy Markham (the Old Spot), Rebekah Storey-Young (Henlow Court) and Roger Cowley (Dursley Lions) who all finished at the same time.

The children's race was won by Jay Randall-Smith who also, for his Superman costume, won the trophy for the best fancy dress outfit.

Money raised through sponsorship collected by each of the racers will be donated to Festive Dursley which will use the funds to purchase new lights for the town.
