TWO men have been charged with breaking into a flat in Thornbury and assaulting its two residents.

Simon Perks, 28, of Avon Way, Thornbury, and Richard Pearce, 29, of The Crescent, Old Down, were both charged with forcing their way into a flat on Usk Court in Thornbury on August 29, 2017, and assaulting the male and female residents inside.

Pearce appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 22 and was remanded on unconditional bail. Perks’ case was also heard, but he was not in attendance.

The case was adjourned until March 7, when it will return to Bristol Magistrates’ Court.

A 28-YEAR-old man from Thornbury has been fined almost £600 after failing to attend a community service session imposed after he stole from a shop.

Jamie Morgan, 28, of Hatchmere in Thornbury, appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 23, having failed to comply with the requirements of a community order imposed after he was convicted of stealing from a shop in March 2013.

Morgan was fined £595 by the court and also order to pay costs of £65, totally £660.

A MAN has been charged with speeding and failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle.

Jason Warren, 31, of Park Farm, Frampton Cotterell, has pleaded not guilty to charges of exceeding the speed limit and failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle, who is alleged to have committed an offence.

The case was adjourned at a hearing at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on February 23 and will resume at Bath Magistrates Court on March 27.

A 67-YEAR-old man has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident on the B4059, Latteridge Road in Iron Acton.

John Scudamore, of Maybank Road, Bristol was also charged with driving without due

care and attention, and failing to report the incident, which happened on July 27, 2017, to the police.

The case was adjourned at a hearing at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on February 22.

He was remanded on unconditional bail until April 4.

A MAN has been charged with stealing goods from Tesco in Yate.

Luke Tanner, 30, of Merryweather Close, Bradley Stoke faces charges of stealing goods worth £222.24 from Tesco, on September 15, 2017.

The case was adjourned at a hearing at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on February 22. He was remanded on unconditional bail until March 15.
