A MAN from Uley who travelled to Devon to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex is facing jail after being trapped by a police sting operation.
Steven Price was arrested in the car park of a pub in Torquay where he had driven from his home to meet the girl, who he had groomed online.
He was trapped by a police undercover operation in which they had created a decoy profile of a 12-year-old girl on social media.
He drove to South Devon after grooming the decoy online and arranging a rendez-vous at the Willow Tree pub at Condor Way, Torquay.
Price, aged 62, of Elcombe Lane, Uley, admitted attempting to engage in a sexual conversation with a child, attempting to meet a child under 13 for the purpose of sexual activity and attempting to meet a child following grooming.
He was remanded in custody to await sentence at Exeter Crown Court.
Recorder Mr Paul Dunkels, QC, told him:"These are very serious offence."
