GARDENS in the Cotswolds and Wiltshire will be opening their gardens for the National Garden Scheme's annual photography competition.

Launching their second competition in association with BBC Gardeners' World, the scheme are offering entrants the chance to win WOLF-Garten tools worth over £950.

Amateur photographers and garden enthusiasts can choose from six categories to enter including Garden Wildlife, Beautiful Garden Views and BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine: Fantastic Flowers - from which the winning image will appeal in the magazine’s 2019 calendar.

The judging panel of George Plumptre, CEO of National Garden Scheme, a professional photographer (TBC) and Lucy Hall, editor of BBC Gardeners’ World magazine, will select the winner of Best Overall Photo from all competition submissions, as well as a winner from each category.

The Best Overall Photo will receive a WOLF-Garten 72v lithium bundle, including lawnmower, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, and grass trimmer, worth £950, and each category winner will receive £100 to spend on the current WOLF-Garten range.

George Plumptre, CEO of National Garden Scheme, said: “For the National Garden Scheme’s first photography competition in 2017 we received over 1,000 entries and we are sure this year’s competition will create even more interest and excitement - particularly with such excellent prizes from our sponsors WOLF-Garten.

“There are countless photographic opportunities in the beautiful gardens that open for charity as part of the National Garden Scheme and this competition celebrates the glorious sights to be seen when visiting a garden throughout spring and summer.”

Mark Hewett, divisional sales manager of WOLF-Garten, said: “The NGS is such a prestigious organisation that does some fantastic work.

"We are excited to be partnering with the organisation to support its photography competition and can’t wait to see the entries.”

The deadline for entries is midnight on 28th August 2018 and entrants can enter more than one category but cannot enter a single image into more than one category.
