A HEARING awareness event is being held in Chipping Sodbury this week.

Set to take place in the town hall on Friday, from 10am until 3pm, visitors will be able to discuss their concerns with hearing experts and to find out more about the latest technology available. Attendees will also have the chance to have a video otoscopy to see inside their own ears.

The event is being hosted by Imperial Hearing.

Audiologist at the company, Les Cavilla said: "With more than 40 per cent of people over the age of 50 suffering with some sort of hearing loss, we are inviting the local community to a Hear Here event to raise awareness of the growing problem and to help anyone affected by hearing loss.

“There is still a stigma around wearing hearing aids and so we find that people commonly put off a hearing test, which means they are often suffering in silence - sometimes for years.

“By holding this event we want people to come and see the latest technology in a welcoming and informal environment.

"Hearing aids have come a long way and are so discreet that no one would even know you suffer from hearing loss anymore.”

To receive a free hearing screening at the event, call 01454 327399 or email chippingsodbury@imperialhearing.com to book a space.
