A BEATRIX Potter-themed trail brought some Easter family fun to Chipping Sodbury.

Created by Sodbury in Bloom and the Friends of Chipping Sodbury Library, the trail took visitors around the town on a hunt for different letters, which could then be re-arranged to give the name of one of Peter Rabbit’s friends.

All the correct answers went into a draw to win one of four book token prizes. These are to be presented in the library on Saturday at 11am.

Julia Bernau, Sodbury in Bloom secretary, and joint secretary of the Friends of Chipping Sodbury Library said: "A lot of people said that the trail had taken them to places in Chipping Sodbury that they didn’t know were there, for example, the river path through the town.

"And parents were really pleased to have something to do with their children which got them out in the fresh air."

Sodbury in Bloom and the Friends of Chipping Sodbury Library are grateful for the help given by Waitrose Partners and the staff of Artingstall's Family Butchers in the High Street, which both stocked the forms.

"This is the first event that the Friends of Chipping Sodbury Library have organised since the volunteers started running the library in October last year, so they are delighted with its success.

"Sodbury in Bloom is also very pleased as the trail has raised awareness of the number of places that the group looks after showing that it’s more than just hanging baskets."
