A THORNBURY man has pleaded guilty in court to assaulting a police officer.
Christopher Smith, 45, of Market Square, Thornbury, appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 17, charged with assaulting a constable in the line of duty on December 11 last year.
Following the guilty plea, Smith was ordered by the court to pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
He was also discharged conditionally for six months.
