WHAT a fantastic event last Saturday’s special flash mob dance was.
Double-amputee Jo Blinman decided to organise the event to raise awareness of what disabled people can do to remain active.
Jo herself lost both of her legs in a house fire in 1993 which tragically killed two of her daughters.
In the years since then, the Cribbs Causeway-based mum of four has seen some dark days, blighted with depression.
Jo credits Coalpit Heath-based charity Paul’s Place with giving new meaning to her life.
Paul’s Place is a day centre which offers support, activity and friendship for adults with learning difficulties and physical impairment.
Now Jo wants to support the centre which helped to turn her life around, and to share the renewed zest for life she has discovered through Zumba and other forms of exercise.
Her flash mob dance was a brilliant way of doing both these things.
Let’s hope she surprises Saturday shoppers again soon.
