POLICE have closed a major road through Stroud while they investigate an incident involving a cyclist this morning.

The road closure is in place on the A419 Cainscross Road from Cainscross roundabout to Merrywalks roundabout, and the main road is not expected to reopen for some time.

A police spokesperson said that they could not confirm when the road would reopen, and warned parents that road access to both Marling School and Stroud High School would be restricted.
