DODINGTON Parish Council have taken over the running of a play park in Yate.
Earlier this month, councillors officially took on the lease, from South Gloucestershire Council, for the junior play area at Woodchester Park.
They already look after the toddler play area, and have been in talks with South Gloucestershire Council about looking after the whole area for a couple of years now.
The Dodington councillors said they were delighted with the move, as now they can start to consult with residents about improvements they would like to see in the play area.
Forthcoming upgrades will be partly funded by monies from the Wapley Care Home development on Kelston Close.
