A GLOUCESTERSHIRE-based employment firm, set up by a former primary school teacher, has won the title of best temporary recruitment agency of the year.

Education recruitment company Class People were selected for the accolade by Recruiter Award.

The achievements of agencies and in-house recruiters across the UK were recognised at the national awards ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Thursday.

Former teacher Lynis Bassett, who set up the business, said: “We are over the moon to have won this award and be recognised for our hard work and commitment within the recruitment industry.

"We have a strong team and fantastic teaching staff and clients who all contribute to the successes of Class People.

The competition judges commended Class People for their excellent work in giving back to schools and the education community.

Class People provide supply teachers, teaching assistants, SEN staff and early year’s practitioners to schools and settings across the South West.
