A MAN from Frampton Cotterell has admitted to assaulting a police officer, whilst in possession of a weapon and drugs.
Edward Cash, 48, of Syms Avenue, also pleaded guilty to driving on Robertson Road in Bristol on April 28, without a valid licence or insurance. He agreed, too, to charges of exhibiting threatening behaviour, on the same day and in the same place.
At a hearing at Bristol Magistrates' Court on May 15, the defendant admitted to carrying a Stanley knife, with the blade extended, and a quantity of cannabis.
He also accepted charges of failing to give police a breath sample and of assaulting a police officer at Patchway Police Centre, on April 28.
The case was adjourned whilst a pre-sentence report to be prepared. It will resume at Bristol Magistrates' on June 15. In the meantime, Cash was disqualified from driving and given unconditional bail.
