Fire in Whitfield
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a kitchen fire in Whitfield yesterday (Tuesday) evening.
Two crews from Thornbury were called to the incident at a home in on Gloucester Road, where a fire had started in an oven.
Using breathing apparatus, the crews used one hose reel and one CO2 extinguisher to put out the fire.
They then cleared the smoke with a positive pressure ventilation fan.
The fire is believed to have been started accidentally.
