CHIPPING Sodbury Festival, now in its 33rd year, continues this week with concerts, talks, walks, and more.

Saturday sees an all day street fair and carnival, organised by Chipping Sodbury Lions, taking place on Broad Street, from 10am.

At 2.35pm, there will be a flypast by Dakota aircraft.

Kate Cox of the festival team said: "It's a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight plane, a transporter plane.

"The carnival procession will come down the street half an hour later.

"People will be able to climb the church tower, which will be open on carnival day, for the best view of the plane," she said.

"I am speaking to the pilot Saturday morning and will ask him to fly up and down the street, as that is quite spectacular to see."

A ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert, featuring the award winning Flowers Band, will be held in the town hall in the evening, at 8pm.

And on Sunday there will be U3A cycle rides, for all ability ranges.
