VILLAGERS enjoyed a community picnic and fun dog show in Frampton Cotterell earlier this month.

Held on Beesmoor Road Playing Field on June 10, attendees tucked into a range of tasty snacks and were entertained by a range of attractions, all bathed in glorious sunshine.

The event was organised to raise funds to renew the play area to make it more inclusive and interesting for children.

Jill Allan of Frampton Cotterell Parish Council said: "Frampton Cotterell Parish Council has generously donated £42,000 towards the project, which is going to cost approximately £150,000.

"Ongoing fundraising and grant applications will hopefully raise enough money to complete the project by summer 2019.

"The village picnic has added around £1,500 to our funds, so many thanks to all who attended and a huge thank you to all the local traders and businesses who generously donated refreshments and prizes."

Anyone who would like to be involved in helping to manage the playing field or provide support for the fund raising is asked to email: beesmoorroadpf@outlook.com or contact Frampton Cotterell Parish Council on 01454 868370 for further information.
