A SITE manager for a housing development in Thornbury has been honoured with a top national award for site quality.

John Coburn, who works at Park Farm in Thornbury, has won a prestigious National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job award, considered to be the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”.

Now in their 38th year, the Pride in the Job awards recognise the very best site managers from around the country.

In total Barratt Developments, which includes David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes won 83 Pride in the Job awards, more than any other housebuilder this year.

Barratt Developments has now won more Pride in the Job awards for a record 14 years in a row.

Each year more than 16,000 site managers enter the competition and are judged against strict evaluation criteria, with just 450 individual winners then being chosen.

Every winner has been rigorously assessed during the past twelve months across 37 areas, including their technical knowledge, quality controls, consistency, health and safety and customer service.

Ian Menham, managing director of David Wilson Homes South West, said: “These awards demonstrate that our site managers are building some of the best quality homes in the country.

“Customers who buy a home on a Pride in the Job winning site are benefiting from a really high quality product.

“By once again winning more of these awards than any other housebuilder shows the commitment we have made to excellence in construction and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.”

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by the Home Builders Federation for customer satisfaction.
