CHIPPING Sodbury has new recycling bins, thanks to the efforts of Jill Brierly and everyone else at Sodbury in Bloom.
A stint of litter picking led Jill to notice the lack of facilities.
Jill and the Sodbury in Bloom team plugged away for two years, trying to remedy the situation, and are now enjoying seeing the results of their campaign - the new bins - in use.
How lucky Chipping Sodbury is to have Jill and the team looking after the town.
They beautify the town with some lovely floral touches, but they do so much more besides.
Tackling the issue of recycling facilities, approaching the various bodies they hoped would be able to help, but couldn’t, and then contacting businesses too, all took time, energy and determination.
They stuck at it, believing in the importance of recycling, determined that the town’s bottles and cans wouldn’t just go to landfill.
I wonder what this impressive group will get up to next.
