A GROUP of Syrian families will be hosting a 'getting to know you' lunch in Coalpit Heath.
The afternoon of fun, music and food is taking place at the Manor Hall on Saturday, June 30, from 2pm to 5pm.
The families, who have resettled in the South Gloucestershire area, will be providing free Syrian food to sample and share.
Members of the community are invited to bring along a picnic too.
The event is aimed at bringing people together, and helping them to get to know one another over a meal.
There will be an eclectic range of entertainment for the day.
Jose Barco will also be compering performing some Columbian music, Danny Guest will be singing Frank Sinatra and Ratpack classics and there will be African drumming workshops.
Youngsters will be able to enjoy face painting, a pedal powered smoothie bike, a bouncy castle and children’s activities and sports.
