SUMMER fun will return to Severn Beach this weekend as the village prepares to host the Severn Festival.

The free event, which takes place on Saturday at the Severn Beach Village Hall and Park, will feature a live music stage and more than 50 stalls and activities with something for everyone.

Running from 11am to 4pm, there will also be a barbeque, bouncy castles, an animal corner, history exhibitions, ‘crazy bikes’ to try and ride, face painting, craft activities, and lots more.

In the arena there will be Tang Soo Do and Zumba demonstrations and, for an hour from 2pm, a dog show. The show is free to enter with categories including best child handler, dog with the waggiest tail and best trick.

Severn Beach resident and co-organiser Peter Tyzack, said: “We’re really pleased to have so many local groups involved in the festival. With so much going on it should be a great day!”

The Severn Festival is a joint project of A Forgotten Landscape, a Heritage Lottery Fund supported project and the Severn Beach Village Hall Committee.
