A 'technical fault' on the M4 is causing significant delays this morning
A 'TECHNICAL' fault is causing delays on the M4 eastbound between junctions 19 and 20 this morning.
An engineer has been called because the ‘smart motorway’ link between the busy stretch of motorway near Almondsbury cannot be opened due to a problems with the system.
The smart motorway system involves an extra lane to manage the flow of traffic and improve motorway safety.
Traffic queues have formed and delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected.
